How Do Personal Injury Attorneys Actually Get Paid?

Local Covington, Louisiana attorney focusing 100% on personal injury matters.

So a lot of people don't call an attorney because they think by doing so they're going to get an hourly bill. That's not how we operate, so I wanted to go over very quickly how I handle personal injury claims and how we get paid.

We don't do hourly billing and we don't do any retainers, meaning our clients don't have to come up with any money up front just for us to represent them. Instead we handle all our personal injury cases on what's known as a contingency fee basis. That means at the end of the case our fee is a percentage of the total collected for our client.

We also incur costs related to the claim like the cost of police reports medical records, etc. Those costs are reimbursed out of any settlement that we collect at the end of a case. If we don't collect for our clients we don't earn a fee and our clients don't owe us those costs back, so the bottom line is our clients only pay us our attorneys fees and our costs if we collect for them.

We offer free and confidential consultations, so call us anytime at 985-590-6182. There's never any pressure to hire us and if we're not of a good fit for your case we'll tell you that also. If we think that you can handle your case on your own we'll give you a few pointers for free and send you on your way and you can call us anytime for any other tips.
